Currently Reading

So right now I’m reading two books:

The first is called “The Provocative Church” by Graham Tomlin.  This is a good book discussing the changes in evangelical culture and the history of which it comes from.  Has some good insights for some discussion I am currently having at my job.

The second book I am reading is called “Jesus for President”.  This is by Shane Claiborne and Chris Haw.  I’m just one section into the book so far and it has given a great history of Israel and how they were a community that was supposed to be set apart for God by their laws and structure of government.  It will be interesting to see where the authors take this and see how it applies to believers today.  I’m hoping it helps me understand my role (as a Christ follower) in politics more.

I’m currently listening to a song written by my broseph called “Trusting and Waiting”.  Pretty cool song, and sounds good with basic instrumentation from Garage Band.  Go here to listen to it.

Why do people boo the judges when they are right?  It’s like any negative advice no one likes, even though it’s true most of the time!

I’ve been listening to the Michael Gungor Band’s CD.  My buddy Rusty was talking to me about it the other night, so i picked it up on iTunes.  It is a very interesting CD, I think it will be a CD that I could listen to for a while.

Anyways, thought I’d throw that out there in case you are looking for some new music.

Week in the Woods

This coming week me and the main music guys I work with are going to be packing up all our gear and heading to a cabin in the woods. Two questions come to mind, 1) How did we get this cabin on the first week of Buck season? and 2) What is this week going to be like?

It’s funny because we are all very different guys and bring all very unique gifts. Sometime I struggle to find what I bring, but I know that I’m there for a reason. Anyways, it should be a good week, lots of sweet music making, fun jokes, and some good worshipful times.

I pray God works in this time this coming week in ways that we may glorify Him.
