With/For

“…God doesn’t want me to work for him out of a sense of obligation, but out of a sense of gratitude”.  -Margaret Feinberg

“When we work with God instead of for God, our sweat creates an intimacy.  In fact, it becomes an act of adoration and worship”.

Wow, am I working for or with God?  Seems to have a huge implication.

Character

Today, some of my friends displayed a large amount of faith, bravery, and character. It made me self-reflect in some major ways.

Inspired.

Who has inspired you lately?

Slowly Seeing the Lion

May 14, 2008

So, I have been rereading Prince Caspian this week.  I read it when I was in middle school when I was going through the whole Chronicles of Narnia.  (Chronic-WHAT-cles of Narnia)  Sorry, SNL flashback.  Anyways, I just read it in about 3 or 4 days, it probably took me a lot longer when I was little.

I was nearing the end when the 4 original kings and queens of Narnia encounter Aslan for the first time since being back in Narnia.  It was interesting how the youngest, Lucy, saw him before anyone else.  Slowly one by one, everyone else started to notice him and see him.  First his shadow, then his whole body.

Now being a few years down the road in my journey or faith, reading this made me chuckle a little bit.  Sometimes I wonder what I would have done in faith as a child.  Sometimes, now, I feel more like a child in my faith than ever.  I’m finding myself following something I can’t see.  Time and time again, I think I see a shadow, and things are kinda making sense.

But I may never see the picture fully here in this lifetime, but I think I’m slowly seeing the Lion.

P.S. – that’s not me in the picture with Aslan, that’s Lucy.  I didn’t want you to think I looked like a girl…
