tis the season

December 18, 2007

So, Christmas is almost upon us.  Here in a week.  This is usually the start of a season for most people to make changes in their life.  I’ve just recently become fascinated with this?  Is it just because we are starting a new year and it is easier to measure success that way?  Or is there something about this season, is there something spiritual that happens from all of us worshiping Christ in this time for His coming to earth?  Sometime I wonder what it would be like to have a raw, authentic, time with God, in Community with thousands of people.   Sometimes I wonder if Heaven will be overwhelming at first?  Can you imagine it?  Yeah, neither can I.

Well, I personally have been trying to make some changes.  It is weird when you leave college and you expect to get in a routine, but then you start working for a singles ministry.  Where a lot of the people you interact with are young adults that just like to chill and “fly by the seat of their pants”.  This is a good thing.  I am also finding that a balanced life is a good thing.

As noted in my last post, I’ve been working out.  That’s been going alright, still trying to get an energy boost from that!  I’m trying to start some other routines in my life as well.  One important one is engaging and interacting with God more during the day.  I would love for my natural response to talk to God when I’m faced with a decision.

These are just a few, but it’s a start.  I believe it’s better to start small then get bigger in your goals.

Anyways, what are some of your goals?

Back from the woods….

December 2, 2007

Well, I’ve been back from the woods for a few days now. We had a great time up there writing music. Oh, by the way, the cabin we stayed at was more lodge like than it was a cabin. It would make a sweet recording studio!

We came away with four solid songs. I would post one of them up here to listen too, but I’m not sure if we can do that yet. But… if you are at LCBC this weekend I’m pretty sure you will hear one of them.

I got Jon Foreman’s fall album the other day. Great songs on that. They are centered around “fall”. He has three more coming out titled: “Winter”, “Spring”, “Summer”. I’m sure they will be good, check them out.

peace,
